This red wine, produced in just 1,764 bottles, is made from mixed old vines grown in different parcels within the Brolo of the Benedictine Monastery of San Paolo d'Argon. Heminae celebrates the monastery's winemaking tradition and evokes the legend of the golden bell buried by the monks in the Brolo during the Napoleonic suppression of 1797.
Facing south and managed entirely by hand, the vineyards grow on clayey-silty soil in the lower part and on calcareous-marly soil in the upper part known locally as “Sass de Luna”.
Fermentation with the skins takes place in an open 20 Hl French oak vat and the wine then ages for a year in the same vat and for a year in the bottle. -
