This barrel was filled on February 21, 2018. The 80 ppm peated malt comes from Scotland; the distillate ages for 6 years in a barrel that previously contained Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey. The nose is aromatic and balsamic, with a freshness of pine needles mixing with caramelized bacon and an intriguing sweetness of sugared almonds and vanilla that progressively grows. Pineapple cream. In the mouth, the peated, herbaceous, and burnt part is powerful and, combined with a citrusy flick, delivers a full and surprising palate. The finish is equally surprising: long, herbaceous, and with phenomenal peat. Bavaria, Highlands, and Tennessee - what a magnificent malt triangle.
